How to…escape from a vending machine - Shute pupils save the day

We’ve all been there - you stick your arm into the vending machine, hoping to reach your favourite chocolate bar when…whoops! All of a sudden you’re stuck in the machine itself with no way to get out. Classic! So, what do you do? Well, call the pupils from Shute Primary School, that’s what you do.

We faced exactly this problem on Tuesday when our Bank Manager failed to turn up to an appearance with the Year 5s & 6s in Badger Class. The disappointment soon turned to hilarity and then to horror when the Bank Manager rang from inside the machine itself to explain what had happened and ask for our help.

Fortunately, the amazing pupils from Shute were able to come up with a comprehensive set of instructions to help our boss escape from his snack-filled prison. Working with our amazing writing Mentors, this clever bunch of escapologists crafted a set of instructions so clearly laid out, even a grumpy Bank Manager could follow them, and soon our Manager was free and none the worse for his ordeal.

The group went on to write an entire survival guide of instructions, to help people in all sorts of difficult and, frankly, ridiculous circumstances; everything from How To…., to How To….!
