Angela Nemo - Arctic Grand Prix Marshall

Working in Chestnut class at Mountjoy School, a special setting in Beaminster, we took our character creation workshop on an unforgettable ride. Once again, The Bank Manager had arrived to a scene of devastation at the Bank; scattered objects, discarded clothing and abandoned items littering the desks and floor. So, with this brilliant bunch of student investigators, we set out as detectives to uncover the culprit.

It turns out, the mystery intruder was none other than Angela Nemo, a race marshal for a Formula One team. With a quirky passion for the GTE AirRam 3+ vacuum cleaner, the glasses they needed to see, and a burning desire to visit the North Pole and establish an Arctic Grand Prix, Angela was easily identified by these classroom detectives. The group was simply astonishing—their imagination really took flight, creating a bonkers, brilliant character like no other. Each child then proceeded to create a Top Trumps-style card with details of another character of their own creation, complete with personality, appearance, and a backstory that took us all by surprise.

Once we briefed The Bank Manager as to who it was who’d been in our offices, he could return the lost items to their rightful owner. A huge thanks to the staff at Mountjoy, especially to Ms Kemp and her team, and of course, to our marvellous mentors, Lizzie, Ged and Clive. And, of course, we owe a huge ‘thank you’ to our incredible illustrator Isabella Garcia for her brilliant rendering of Angela Nemo - never before has vacuuming been so full of adventure.
