Young Axminster Journalists Report the News From ‘Out There’

STOP THE PRESS - Axminster Home Education Network have produced the first ever edition of “The Home-Ed Times” a publication featuring news, fiction, features, ‘op-eds’ and long-form journalism from a very talented team of young writers. Issue one was written over the course of seven weeks in the summer and is officially out this Friday.

Amongst other stories, Issue One features breaking news about a recently discovered secret David Attenborough documentary that ‘they’ don’t want you to know about, exciting plans to launch rubber as the new currency alternative to gold, and the latest dark magic ‘incident’ involving the inhabitants of the mysterious Isle of ‘Sunder’. In addition, there are articles on aviation and building giant Rubik’s Cubes in space, exposés of secret meetings with fantasy creatures, and even a 100% accurate, totally reliable horoscope. It’s a must read!

A huge thanks to Beth Steele and all the parents who co-ordinated the logistics of the sessions so brilliantly, and to the staff at the Pippins Centre who were so accommodating.

Thanks also to our illustrator, Kota, who responded to the briefs he was given so well. The paper looks as good as it reads!

We can’t wait to come back and find out some more about what’s going on in the ‘out-there’!
