They’re electing the dogs! They’re electing the cats…
Uh-oh! The King of the jungle has gone missing! Luckily a highly persuasive group of students from Mountjoy School in Beaminster were on hand to help us elect a new leader to unite the jungle community.
We had a great time working with Rowan class on their campaign speeches. The group were amazingly focused and really showed off their skills, not only as regards persuasive writing, but also about their general animal knowledge as well. Did you know that giraffes have the same number of vertebrae in their neck as we humans do? It’s true! Their vertebrae are just much, much larger!
The class pulled out all the stops and used their political wiles to create compelling arguments for their chosen candidate. They were so good we didn’t know who to vote for.
Huge thanks to Mrs. Marsh and all the staff at Mountjoy for giving us the opportunity to work with this amazing bunch of writers.
As ever, the group were supported in their writing by some of our most politically astute volunteer writing mentors, so a huge thank you to Diana and Lizzie for their help as writers, listeners and part-time spin doctors.
