Getting political at The Prince of Wales School
Last Wednesday, we were lucky enough to return to the Prince of Wales School in Dorchester, working with a very talented bunch of Year 3s on some persuasive speechwriting. We arrived to the terrible news that the Lion, King of the Beasts, had gone missing! With the Jungle still reeling from this bombshell, it was up to our Year 3 campaign managers to convince the world why their favourite animal ought to be the new King of the Beasts.
Our budding spin doctors really rose to the occasion and we heard some impassioned oration arguing the case for the Penguin, Sloth, Butterfly and Dolphin. The pupils wrote and delivered their speeches magnificently, as well as designing and printing their slogan and logo on their own campaign badge.
It was a brilliant morning. The children really enjoyed themselves and produced some amazing pieces of writing. As ever, they were supported by our wonderful team of writing mentors, Ambs, Amy, Nick and Jon, to whom we owe a huge thanks.
It was a morning full of creativity, teamwork, and pure persuasive magic! Well done Prince, of Wales, you’ve done it again.
