Double Launch Party! Salway Ash Celebrates

Last night saw a very exciting double launch, celebrating writers and performers from Salway Ash Primary School. Clocktower Records hosted the event which saw the launch of our latest SONGBANK CD of poems and songs by the pupils, celebrating the childrens’ voices, and “Travel Stories”, an anthology of travel writing from the Year Six pupils.

There were readings, author signings and a general merriment as well as an official listen along for the CD. We were so proud of all the participants and they thoroughly deserved this celebration of their achievements. As ever, the children were assisted in their endeavours by our team of Marvellous Mentors - Vicky, Lizzie, Ambs, Andrea, Tansy, Lu, Diana, Amber, Graham, Mark, Rachel and Alex, we salute you.

Thanks to Claire Shaw, voice coach and musical guru ‘par excellence’ for leading The Bank sessions and encouraging such fantastic poetry and a cappella songs from the children. Thanks also to Echotown Studios, Dorchester for hosting the recording sessions and making us feel so welcome. It’s a fantastic space to work and record in.
