Adventure of the Friends.
Working with Beaminster St Mary’s Octopus Class is always a delight and this time around was no exception. The Year 3 writers worked together brilliantly, sharing their ideas and building their narrative together, to create an epic tale of friendship, derring-do and bone-eating ants. Seriously.
Armed with the shared beginning, the pupils set off in their own directions. Some endings were triumphant, others perilous, a few delightfully unexpected. The same characters, the same situation - but entirely different outcomes so that we need up with one story, with many endings.
And tying it all together, giving it a visual life of its own, were the superb illustrations by Euan Saunders - capturing the spirit of the adventure in a way that words alone could not quite manage. Thank you Euan. Huge thanks also to Miss Newman and all the staff at Beaminster St Mary’s Academy.
And of course, without our team of dedicated Marvellous Mentors, we wouldn’t be able to provide the 1 to 1 assistance so important for supporting these young writers, so to Til, Andrea and Susan , thank you - your help is very much appreciated.
