As World Book Day approaches (3rd March), Bridport St Mary’s CE Primary are going storymaking mad!

We spent a delightful morning meeting our newest volunteers, who kindly gave up their time to take part in a two-hour training session.

We’re delighted to have had such a glowing report from Year 11 pupils at The Woodroffe School in Lyme Regis, following our recent one-day Podcasting workshop.

We’re getting down to the business end of our six-week writing project with Sir John Colfox School; with two more sessions to go, the participating Year 9 students have each built a high-quality portfolio of writing to go into the anthology.

There’s a sense of mystery growing at Sir John Colfox School, where Year 9 pupils are tapping into their dark side to produce creative writing for an anthology entitled Eerie.

We spent a fantastic day at Woodroffe School in Lyme Regis, working with Year 11 pupils to record their own Podcasts.

Year 5 pupils from Salway Ash CE Primary school delighted us - and the Bank Manager - with their story about a rat who wanted nothing more than to be able to do martial arts with his tail.

Shute Community Primary School’s headteacher Patrick Germscheid was delighted with the story outcome from his Year 5/6 Badgers class; their gripping tale of a fruit-led Food Fight was our last publication of 2021.

Broadwindsor’s Jane Austen class created a multi-layered narrative to tell the story of Jeffrey and Jam-es, a turkey and banana duo who wrestled with internal conflict about wanting to be food for hungry families, while also being fearful of being eaten.

Here at TBODAN we’re very lucky to have professional illustrators volunteer to bring our young writers’ words to life.

Following the design and print process, we delivered finished copies of the sensational book co-written by Year 3 & 4 pupils at Broadwindsor CE Primary School, making every single class member a published author!

Beaminster’s Prout Bridge Project Youth Club kindly invited us to their juniors session, where young writers worked collaboratively - and noisily!

Following our recent - and rather macabre - recipe writing session at Bridport Youth Club, the juniors’ Recipe for a Nightmare is now out there for all to see.
