Who’s been leaving their things lying around all over the bank?
Would you believe it? Someone’s only gone and left all their stuff lying around the Bank! We were interrupted while working with a brilliant bunch of Year Threes at Radipole Primary School this week. The Bank Manager had found various items littering his office, chucked around the canteen and even strewn around the vaults themselves! Fortunately, we were able to brighten his mood by working with the classes 3B and 3H to discover just who this forgetful character was.
The classes brought all their detective skills to bear on the problem and when they’d finished investigating all of the clues, they had created and fleshed out a number of brilliant, well-rounded characters. It turns out that lifeguard trainee Jon Bonjourwa and infant elf-explorer Que Gromper had indeed left personal items in our Bank, and we are so pleased to be able to safely return them their posessions.
But the class didn’t stop there. With the support of our amazing volunteer mentors: Vicki, Jackie, Lizzie, Ambs, Jon and David, the classes were also able to invent a whole cast of brand-new characters to inhabit the Town of Dreams & Nightmares.
Illustrated by the brilliant Emily Stewart, these two characters are currently being sought by the Bank gremlins to return them their stuff.
A huge thanks to Mr Hargreaves, Mr. Bowden and all the staff in Year 3 for facilitating the workshop and allowing us the opportunity to work with this wonderful group of students.
