Loders Primary - Poetry of the Environment

We were at Loders Primary School all this week, working with the whole school to write some fantastic poetry about the environment. Working from Reception through to Year 6, we looked at all sorts of aspects of our environment, from climate change affecting the rainforests, to how we can look after our own spaces, even if that just means our own living rooms.

The groups of young poets proved to be more than equal to the task and the resulting poems are hilarious, heart breaking, punchy and profound. We were assisted, as always, by a troupe of amazing volunteer writing mentors who helped to coax incredible rhymes and rhythms as well as thought provoking musings from the pupils. So a huge thanks to Ambs, Raja, Tansy, Trish, Elle, Alison and Rachel for their invaluable support.

The anthology is available soon from the Bank of Dreams & Nightmares website and all good local bookshops.
