Author Exclusive: Guy Bass Zooms in help young authors
Award winning children’s author, Guy Bass, Zoomed into our session at Wadham School to lend his support to a group of aspiring young authors. Over the course of the session, as well as listening to the pupil’s ideas and keeping their enthusiasm up, Guy gave advice ranging from how to build tension and write for a younger readership, through to the joys of editing and why he thinks young readers still love darker stories.
The group made the most of this opportunity to get advice from a best-selling author and asked questions that were pertinent, challenging and at times, hilarious. Following the session the students had some time to immediately act on the advice Guy had given and the focus in the room was incredible.
Huge thanks to Guy for giving up his time to support the group and for all his excellent advice. Now all the group need to do is get their first drafts finished…
