The Capybara Conundrum

What a brilliant morning we had at Shute Primary School, working with the amazing Year 5s and 6s in Badger Class. They absolutely blew us away with their story ‘The Capybara Conundrum’. It is a tale of magic, adventure, unspoken heartache and terrifying spiders. Will our hero be forced to face his crippling fear of these eight-legged beasts? Will his best friend, Toddle, help him out? What’s a Capybara superhero to do when even a cupboard of goblins isn’t enough? The story was finished off by each pupil and illustrated perfectly by the incredible Steffan Gnosspelius. We can’t wait to see what these guys come up with next time!

Our thanks go to the fantastic staff at Shute Primary and, as always, to our brilliant team of volunteer writing mentors who give up their time to draw out the author in each child. We couldn’t do it without them. Thanks Liz, Jon, Jackie, Caroline and Denise!
